1. The Service
Liforiah is designed to help organize and connect everyday information such as memories, photographs, documents, receipts, warranties, subscriptions, reminders, places and plans. Liora is an assistant for supported information retrieval and actions. LifeTogether is a private collaboration feature for approved members, where available.
The Service may include offline-only functions that do not require registration. Cloud backup, multi-device account use or LifeTogether collaboration may require an account, an eligible connection to external services, and additional consent.
2. All-ages use, children and guardians
Liforiah is intended for people and families of all ages, subject to appropriate age-specific protections and applicable laws. This is not permission for children of every age to register independently or authorize cloud services themselves.
An adult with legal responsibility for a minor may use their own account to organize family memories and may supervise the minor's age-appropriate use. A person under the applicable age of digital consent must have any legally required parent or guardian authorization before an online account, shared space, data upload or optional cloud processing is enabled for them.
Where the law requires verifiable parental consent, including relevant U.S. COPPA requirements for children under 13, that consent must be obtained through a suitable verification process, not merely a self-certification checkbox. Parent/guardian tools should permit appropriate oversight and rights requests. Teenagers may require additional permissions or protective settings depending on local law.
Current implementation status: Liforiah's age screen, verification of parental consent, parental controls and children-specific safeguards are not yet implemented. Public child accounts are not currently offered, and online accounts, Google Drive backup and LifeTogether are not yet released to the public. Before they are, Liforiah will add the protections the law requires, and until they are in place it will not offer independent online registration or cloud sharing to children for whom those protections are required. Parents may manage lawful family content through their own accounts. No one should misstate their age or impersonate a guardian to bypass these rules.
The parent or guardian who authorizes a minor's use is responsible for providing lawful permission and age-appropriate supervision to the extent permitted by law. We will respond to child-data concerns and guardian requests at hello@marcmaure.com.
3. Registration and account security
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials and any recovery codes safe. You are responsible for activity carried out using your account to the extent allowed by applicable law; contact us if it appears compromised.
Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In, where available, are optional sign-in methods. Connecting Google Drive for backup is a separate authorization. We may apply reasonable access restrictions to protect accounts and shared content. Signing out does not itself erase all local data or files stored in your Google Drive.
4. Your content remains yours
You retain your rights in content you own or lawfully control. Liforiah does not acquire ownership of your photos, documents, notes or other personal uploads merely because you use the Service. You give us a limited, nonexclusive permission to handle your content as necessary to deliver features you actively select, such as local organization, synchronization, encrypted backup, displaying a shared album and executing a supported instruction.
You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to save, upload or share information, especially private documents, other people's photos and children's personal information. The Service may restrict or remove access to unlawful or harmful content or abusive sharing subject to applicable law.
5. Backup and restoration through your Google Drive
For eligible users, connecting Google Drive allows Liforiah to manage designated app-created or expressly authorized files for optional encrypted backup and media sharing. The files use the connected user's own Google Drive storage, not a general Liforiah-owned photo library. Google storage quotas, costs and account conditions are governed by Google's own terms.
You should regularly check the app's backup status. A file saved only on your device may be lost when the app is uninstalled, local data is cleared, a phone is lost or hardware fails. A backed-up file is recoverable only when the necessary data and encryption keys remain available, and a successful restore is not guaranteed in all circumstances. Recovery keys may be impossible to replace if lost.
You may disconnect or revoke Drive authorization. This may stop future uploads and restoration and may affect collaboration. It does not necessarily delete existing files in your Drive, collaborator copies or separate account metadata. You remain responsible for separately managing files held in your own Google Drive, and the app offers a "Delete my backups" action for the backups it created.
Backup and restore functions must be tested and available before users are encouraged to depend on them as a guaranteed safeguard. The Service will display the actual backup state rather than promising that pending transfers have succeeded.
6. LifeTogether, albums and invited people
When available, private LifeTogether spaces let approved members contribute and view selected content. Owners and members must comply with the available roles and permissions and respect others' rights. The contributor's own Google Drive may hold their encrypted photo or document contributions. A contribution can become unavailable to other members if its only accessible copy is deleted, the account is disabled or permission is withdrawn.
Removing a member may prevent future access under the Service's active controls, but cannot force deletion of files the member previously downloaded or copied. Do not share anything that you cannot lawfully disclose or would not want another authorized participant to retain. Families should take particular care with children's images and identifiable information.
No public social network or unlimited publication right is granted by joining LifeTogether. Abuse, harassment, impersonation, privacy violations, infringing content and unauthorized access are prohibited.
7. Liora, AI and voice features
Liora may produce incorrect interpretations, suggestions or answers. You remain responsible for reviewing meaningful changes, dates, money amounts, links and other important details. A saved reminder is not a substitute for professional medical, legal or financial advice, an emergency service, or a guaranteed safety alert.
Local AI availability depends on your device. Some features may require a model download and consent; optional cloud AI may transfer relevant content when enabled. Background listening, voice recognition and notifications depend on permissions, compatible platform features and device settings. We do not promise continuous operation on every phone.
The Privacy Policy explains when information may leave your device and what choices are available.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Liforiah to break the law, violate other people's privacy, upload material you have no right to use, stalk or harass others, distribute malware, circumvent security or interfere with other members' accounts and data. We may take proportionate measures to prevent misuse, including restricting access, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice where feasible.
9. Third-party services and external links
The Service may depend on Google, Apple, Supabase, app stores, mobile operating systems, hosting providers or optional AI/model services. Third-party services have their own applicable terms, rules and availability. We are not responsible for independently operated services to the extent permitted by law, but this does not limit any legal duty we ourselves owe to users.
External map and web links may direct you outside Liforiah. You should check their accuracy and suitability before relying on them.
10. No fees
Liforiah is currently a free personal project. These Terms do not charge any fee or authorize any automatic charge. Your personal subscription records stored in Liforiah are only notes: they do not authorize us to pay or cancel the corresponding third-party services for you.
11. Updates, testing and availability
We may make reasonable changes to improve functionality, security or compliance. Some fixes may be delivered as app updates, and some native changes require a new installation package. Pre-release functions may contain bugs, limitations or interruptions. We will seek to preserve user data but cannot guarantee that a particular device, provider or external service remains available without interruption.
Important information should be independently backed up and verified. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory consumer protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
12. Sign-out, account deletion and content copies
You may stop using Liforiah, sign out or request deletion of information within our control through available tools or hello@marcmaure.com. We may suspend or limit an account reasonably when needed for security or serious violations, subject to applicable law.
Deleting your Liforiah account, removing information from your phone, deleting cloud account records and deleting files from your own Google Drive are distinct operations. Deleting your account in the app removes your account and records tied to it from the databases we operate; spaces you own that others remain in pass to a longstanding member, and spaces with no other member are deleted. It does not delete files in your own Google Drive or data on your phone. Some copies may remain with authorized collaborators who previously downloaded them, or for a limited period where legally required or technically unavoidable. Before deleting an account, export or verify any content you wish to retain (Profile has an export option) and keep necessary recovery materials safe.
Guardians may make applicable requests about a minor's personal information, subject to verification of their authority.
13. Intellectual property
The Liforiah name, original application design, brand assets and software are owned or licensed by the service operator, except for third-party materials and content owned by users. These Terms permit personal use of the Service as offered and do not transfer intellectual-property ownership. Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses.
14. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Liforiah is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee error-free AI responses, uninterrupted service, permanently available cloud storage, or perfect backup restoration. Take reasonable precautions for important documents and critical deadlines.
Nothing here excludes, limits or waives liability or statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable privacy and consumer protection rights.
15. Disputes and applicable law
Please contact hello@marcmaure.com first so we can attempt to resolve a problem promptly. These Terms are interpreted under the laws that apply to the Liforiah operator and to you, and nothing in them limits any mandatory consumer or privacy right you have where you live. These Terms do not require users to surrender mandatory rights in their country or region.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Liforiah develops or as laws change. We will publish a revised effective date and provide any notice or consent required for material changes. Continued use after valid notice may constitute acceptance where law allows; if you disagree, stop using the affected features and contact support about data export or account closure.
